When the Barousse family contacted me to photograph Kate and Zach’s wedding, I was honored to do so, especially since they hired me to photograph their other daughter, Caroline’s wedding back in 2015.
The weather looked questionable in the morning but as soon as I arrived to photograph Zach and the guys, the sun began to shine and the skies cleared!
We had some laughs while documenting the guys getting ready, especially when I saw the dart board and used Zach’s head as an apple holder whilst the best man took aim at the apple with the dart (no groom or groomsmen were injured during this segment :).
Following this, Kate was getting ready at her parents, Melody and Bobby Barousse’s home in Covington. We did sort of a “first look” with Kate and her father, then a reveal to the bridesmaids. As you can see in the images below, there was a multitude of expressions and emotions as soon as everyone witnessed Kate dressed in her bridal gown for the first time…something I really enjoy seeing and photographing!
The ceremony took place at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Covington, and was beautiful as always. Preceding the bride were 14 Flower Girls and Ring Bearers. The majority of them walked down the aisle unaccompanied by a parent, although one or two needed a little guidance. Needless to say, it put a smile on everyones face.
The reception took place at Maison Lafitte in Mandeville. Kate and Zach were introduced for their first dance and from then til the end, they had a blast, as it is clearly evident in the reception images.
As Kate and Zach exited the venue, they did it in style having the guests hold sparklers along the walkway to the street. Best way to exit IMO!
Congratulations Kate and Zack!
